State park idea of Bruce's is what Lisa and I figured
would end up happening. Civil War sites are on the MS
river, Shiloh is on the TN river if I remember right.
Will see about the cost of group camping area at
Ft. Pillow State Park, Henning TN, about an hour from
Memphis proper. Hotels are in Covongton TN, about 25-30
miles from the park. Ft Pillow is a CSA victory,
located on the cliffs directly above a prime fossil
bed.
Sound good? We'll start planning the menu for the
BBQ.
